Sendlane is an email and SMS marketing platform for ecommerce brands that also includes product reviews and signup forms. Tranthor is an autonomous CRM for ecommerce retention: it finds the customer moment, drafts the campaign, and sends within limits you approve. Both help a store bring customers back. They differ in who does the operating work.
Sendlane announced in February 2026 that it had been acquired by Privy. This comparison uses Sendlane's own website, pricing page, and help center as read in October 2026, plus what Tranthor ships today. Where something is not documented, we say so instead of assuming it is missing.

Where Sendlane is strong
Sendlane is a capable tool for a team that wants to build and run its own automations. Its documentation supports these strengths.
- Email and SMS in one automation builder, with product reviews and forms in the same platform. Its help center says Reviews is included with the email subscription.
- Pricing by send volume with unlimited contacts, so you pay for sends rather than profiles.
- Configurable revenue attribution: you choose whether opens and clicks, opens excluding Apple Privacy opens, or clicks only qualify, and you set the window.
- Machine learning open predictability, which sends a campaign to each contact at their most likely open time within 24 hours, and experiments that test up to four email versions and send the winner by open rate, click rate, or revenue.
- Native integrations with Shopify and BigCommerce, including more than one BigCommerce store in one account, and support around the clock, including weekends and holidays.
Where Tranthor works differently
Sendlane's tools help you build and tune automations: you design the flow, and features such as open-time prediction and experiments optimize it. We did not find a documented autonomous send loop. Tranthor starts from the customer moment instead. It watches orders, repeat-purchase timing, lapse risk, and customer value, drafts the audience, message, timing, and offer, and sends within limits you approve.
Every Tranthor playbook starts in review, and the first run always drafts for approval. After one approved run you can switch it to auto-send within limits you approve, and later to fully autonomous. Limits you approve are enforced at send time: contact frequency, spacing, a daily send cap, a discount cap, and allowlists for channels, senders, and segments.
How each tool measures results
Sendlane credits a purchase to a message when the customer engaged with it inside the attribution window. For email the window runs from 1 to 30 days, with a default of 5 days; SMS has its own sent and clicked windows. If several messages qualify for the same purchase, each one is credited, and Sendlane recommends third-party analytics to confirm results. Holdout or incrementality testing is not documented.
Tranthor reports lift where you configure a holdout. A random group is held back and compared with the group that received the campaign, and it needs 100 customers in each group before it shows a result. Holdouts are opt-in, so lift is not measured on every send.
Channels and Arabic
Sendlane's automations send email, SMS and MMS, plus internal notification emails. WhatsApp and push are not documented in its help center. Tranthor sends email, SMS and WhatsApp, in journeys and in autonomous sends.
For Arabic, right-to-left support is not documented in Sendlane's help center. Tranthor email templates carry language variants and render right-to-left locales such as Arabic.
